Beds: 36
Census: Average patients/day: Client = 33 currently

Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

General Med/Surg – CHF, COPD, kidney/liver/GI/respiratory issues, infections, wounds, CIWA, patients requiring CBI, etc.
Floor LOC post-operative patients - Bariatric, hips; trauma surgical, bucks traction

Patient Ratios:

RN: 1:6
LPN (if applicable): 1:6
CNA: 1:9-12

Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS

Skills required:

General care of the medical/surgical patient – IV start/maintenance, foley start/maintenance, NG tube start/maintenance, chest tubes, wound care/dressing changes, wound vacs/drains, heparin drips, CBI

Support within the Department:

CNA: Duties: Duties as assigned, within the scope of the CNA; General ADLs, vital signs, ambulation/mobility, assistance with feeding, blood sugars and other duties as assigned within the scope of the CNA.
Receptionist/HUC: 7am-7:30pm, yes- 7pm-0730am, no.
Charge nurse: Yes
Phlebotomy: Yes
IV/VAT Team: No
Resource Nurse: No
RT 24/7: Yes
Hospitalist 24/7: Yes
Intensivist 24/7: Yes
Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes

IV Pump: Baxter currently - moving to Alaris in 2026
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Philips MX-40s
Unit specific equipment: Routine lifting equipment, VS equipment, CBG machines, wound vacs PRN, Baxter IV pumps. Specialty beds PRN.

Floating:

Sister units of 7N and 7S – All med-surg with same ratio/expectations.
