Location: Webster, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 6 weeks

Job Description

Critical Care Registered Nurses provide care for patients with severe medical issues such as heart attack, stroke, shock, severe trauma, and respiratory distress. Responsibilities include:

• Assessing patient condition and implementing care plans
• Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
• Assisting physicians with procedures
• Monitoring and recording vital signs
• Managing ventilators, monitors, and other medical equipment (including adjusting ventilator/IABP)
• Administering IV fluids and medications
• Suctioning
• Collaborating with the critical care team
• Responding to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols
• Acting as patient advocate
• Educating and supporting patient families
• Caring for pre- and post-operative patients
• May include case management, policy making, and administrative duties
• Must be willing to float to lower acuity units as needed, accepting a full assignment of 6 patients while floating

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to accept full patient assignment while floating to lower acuity units
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role
