Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel)

Location: Webster, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 6 weeks

Job Description

As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you will provide care for patients with severe medical conditions such as heart attack, stroke, shock, trauma, and respiratory distress. Responsibilities include:

• Assessing patient conditions and implementing care plans
• Treating wounds and providing advanced life support
• Assisting physicians with procedures
• Monitoring and recording vital signs
• Managing ventilators, monitors, and other medical equipment (including adjusting ventilators/IABP)
• Administering IV fluids and medications
• Suctioning
• Collaborating with the critical care team
• Responding to life-saving situations using nursing standards and protocols
• Acting as a patient advocate
• Educating and supporting patient families
• Caring for pre- and post-operative patients
• Floating to lower acuity units as needed (must be willing to accept a full assignment of 6 patients while floating)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Notes

• Must be willing to float to lower acuity units depending on census
• Must be able to manage a full assignment of 6 patients while floating
