Pharmacist Travel Position - Aurora, Colorado

Job Summary

• Collaborate with the Director of Pharmacy to compound and dispense medications according to physician prescriptions.
• Participate in hospital Performance Improvement plans.
• Consult and advise Administration, Medical Staff, and hospital staff on quality, regulatory, and risk issues.
• Support and serve as a consultant to clinical and Medical Staff.
• Assist in coordinating and implementing Pharmacy activities.
• Interpret medication orders and ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional pharmacy standards.
• Supervise technical support staff and assist with clinical, quality management, and education programs.
• Provide pharmaceutical support for adult and geriatric patients (ages 18 and older).
• Maintain and disseminate drug information through education and consultation.
• Assist other Pharmacists and Technicians with routine duties.
• Exercise professional judgment in therapeutic and drug information.
• Manage medication orders, ensuring safety and appropriateness based on patient factors (height, weight, age, renal function, disease state).
• Monitor pharmacokinetics dosing and modify doses as needed.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and pharmacy security, including controlled substances.
• Prioritize work to prepare STAT, Now, and Waiting orders.
• Float between Aurora and Denver facilities (approximately 3 days Aurora / 1 day Denver).

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • On-call duties included
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric (18 years and older)
• Additional Notes:

  • Must be capable of entering a minimum of 40 orders per four-hour shift.
  • Candidate will float between two facilities as needed.
  • Must have knowledge of pharmacokinetics dosing and medication safety protocols.

This position is suitable for pharmacists with hospital experience seeking a travel role in Colorado with a defined 13-week contract.
