Med/Surg Nurses provide direct, individualized nursing care to patients using scientific nursing principles. Responsibilities include:

Collaborating with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
Preparing, administering, and documenting medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV)
Reporting adverse medication reactions per policy
Educating patients on surgical procedures and post-treatment home care
Recording medical information and vital signs
Monitoring and adjusting specialized patient equipment, interpreting electronic displays
Initiating corrective actions for adverse symptoms
Providing bedside care for a variety of medical patients, including pre- and post-surgery
Assisting physicians during examinations and treatments
Responding to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols
Participating in discharge planning
Utilizing time management skills and maintaining accurate, timely documentation

Must hold an active Idaho RN license or multi-state compact license
BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a hospital setting
Travel experience is not explicitly required
