School Services - Special Education Teacher

Centra Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher (SPED) that is certified in the state of practice to work in a school setting. This is a contract, full time position.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Develop and implement activities and lessons based on the curriculum and to meet the individual and group needs of children in the classroom. Knowledge of the Creative Curriculum is a plus.
• Create an environment that responds to the children’s individual developmental levels and their needs and interests
• Maintain the daily schedule and classroom routines to ensure a consistent and routine experience for the children.
• Administer assessments and maintain proper documentation
• Maintain stable/supportive relationships with the children and their families through excellent communication skills
• Assist with transition planning
• Manage classroom materials and provide educational support, guidance, and training to Assistant Teachers
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and training
• Maintain proper documentation required from the program

Requirements include:

• MSED in SWD (birth-Gr. 2) preferred
• Candidates on study plans, internship certificates or COVID licensure are eligible
• Experience is required!
