Description
Position Overview
Provide speech and language services to preschool and/or elementary students in a school-based special education setting.
Develop and implement individualized therapy and instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals, developmental needs, and learning styles.
Collaborate and co-instruct with general and special education teachers to support communication, phonemic awareness, reading, and writing development.
Identify and address students’ phonemic awareness needs and support students with apraxia.
Maintain required documentation, including Medicaid reimbursement records, while actively contributing to a collaborative, team-based learning environment.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Valid New York State Speech-Language Pathology License
Active TSSLD and/or TSHH credentials
Valid NPI number
School-based experience with preschool and/or elementary students, particularly in special education or collaborative classroom settings
Experience identifying and addressing phonemic awareness needs and/or apraxia
