MRI Technologist - (MRI Tech)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 E Pay Rate: $2336.82 - $2560.56

Unit Notes **Medical Solutions auto deducts the 1.75 WA state tax - you are able re-add that back in.** Our SMC Licensure/Certification requires an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification, and unfortunately, the ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) certification does not meet our current requirements. A technologist with an ARMRIT certification would meet the requirements if they also take and pass the ARRT boards for MR certification thus be certified as an ARRT (MR). Additionally, if the MRI candidate is certified with the ARRT in Radiology (R), or Computed Tomography (CT) they would need to have or acquire a Washington state license. There will be a change to this in that the State is working on requiring MRI technologists to have a Washington State license, however this has not been instituted at this time. License/Certification: • American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification is required. • State of Washington Certification as a Radiological Technologist required unless ARRT(MR) is achieved through the ARRT Primary Pathway. • ARRT MRI Certification is preferred. • Current healthcare provider BLS Certification. • MRI Certification pay incentive available Department: Radiology - MRI General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.) BLS for Healthcare worker, N95 fit tested Certs/ARRT & other specialty certification requirements: ARRT or ARMRIT in MRI. Washington State Radiologic Technologist License REQUIRED if candidate is ARRT certified in X Ray or Computed Tomography How many scanners/rooms does this department have? Two at the Main Hospital - and Three outpatient clinics Will they have to float/cover any other areas? Dependent on operational needs Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties Brain, neck, Spine, Chest, Abd, Pelvis, Breast, Cardiac, Prostate, MSK, Imaging patients with Implanted devices and researching them prior to Imaging. Experience or 'Must have' skills Not required but encouraged having experience in MRI Cardiac, Breast and Breast Biopsy MRI. Average # of scans/studies per day 28 EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use EPIC and Sectra PACS Department Specific Equipment (GE, Phillips, Siemens) "Main Hospital GE 1.5T & 3T Outpatient Clinics: Philips, Hitachi" Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech Manager: Kenneth Crossland Do they use RRA's (Registered Radiology Assistants)? Radiology Aides assist MRI Technologists Radiologist in-house? Yes Do they have to start IV's? (if applicable to the department) Yes, IV skills required. Shifts & Scheduling - Varying - Please see notes Weekend Requirement - Not required but can volunteer Holiday Requirement Participate in the holiday rotation Call or Standby requirement? Participate in the standby rotation Scrub Color/Dress Code: Are scrubs provided? Personal Scrubs. Hospital Scrubs provided only to OR staff Department specific orientation Yes
