In this role, you will work within a modern radiation oncology environment, collaborating closely with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, medical physicists, nurses, and support staff. The department is designed to support safe, accurate, and efficient treatment delivery, with contemporary treatment planning systems, imaging capabilities, and linear accelerators that allow for precise patient care. Typical responsibilities include performing daily treatment setup and delivery, verifying treatment parameters, conducting pre-treatment imaging, and ensuring accurate patient positioning. You will participate in CT simulation sessions, assist with immobilization and marking, and follow detailed treatment plans to deliver evidence-based radiation therapy. Thorough documentation in the EMR, adherence to departmental protocols, and involvement in daily quality assurance checks are key components of the role. Your day-to-day schedule will generally involve caring for a steady caseload of oncology patients with an emphasis on personalized, compassionate care. Patient volumes are structured to support both efficiency and the time needed for high-quality patient interactions. You will provide clear explanations of procedures, monitor patients for side effects, and communicate observations to the broader care team so that treatment plans can be adjusted when needed. Shifts are typically standard daytime hours, Monday through Friday, aligning with outpatient radiation schedules. Occasional schedule adjustments may be needed to support patient volume, equipment maintenance, or special procedures, but the structure offers reliable hours and work-life balance. Patient ratios are designed to keep workloads manageable, allowing you to focus on safety, accuracy, and supportive care rather than rushed throughput.
