Physical Therapist Assistant - Skilled - (PTA)

Work in a modern acute care hospital in Charleston, South Carolina, a coastal city known for its historic charm, award-winningdining, and easy access to beaches and outdoor activities. The hospital provides a broad range of services including medical-surgical, critical care, cardiovascular, surgical, emergency, women’s health, and specialty clinics. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team focused on safe, evidence-based care and supported by shared governance, ongoing education, and clear opportunities for professional growth. Positions are available across multiple units such as medical-surgical, progressive care/step-down, ICU, ED, perioperative services, obstetrics, pediatrics, oncology, and specialty areas. Core responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, medication administration, care coordination, patient and family education, and active participation in quality and safety initiatives. Patient ratios are tailored to unit acuity, with lower ratios in higher-acuity areas and support staff to assist with non-RN tasks. Shifts may include 8-, 10-, or 12-hour schedules with day, evening, night, and weekend options depending on unit needs, and schedules are designed to balance patient care and staff well-being. The hospital features updated facilities, advanced monitoring and diagnostic technology, and integrated EMR systems that promote efficient workflows and strong communication.
