Crops including pineapples, coffee, papaya, macadamia nuts, and even tea are in abundance in Honokaa. Honokaa provides a beautiful unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean when traveling down slope. The annual fall Hamakua Music Festival since 1933 has hosted a number of jazz, classical, and Hawaiian folk musicians.
