Job Description & Requirements
Occupational Therapist - Outpatient - (OT)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $1937.00 - $1996.00

This outpatient occupational therapy position is located in Terrell, Texas, a welcoming and growing community east of Dallas. Terrell offers the comfort of a smaller town with the advantages of easy access to a major metropolitan area. Residents enjoy a charming historic downtown, local shops and restaurants, community events, and convenient shopping and services. The area is known as an “intact community,” where you can live, work, learn, and play without sacrificing convenience. With Dallas just a short drive away, you can enjoy big-city cultural attractions, sports, and dining, while returning home to a more relaxed, community-focused environment. The clinic is part of a large, reputable outpatient rehabilitation network that provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, and hand therapy services across North Texas. Patients have access to experienced clinicians, specialized programs, and coordinated care that supports recovery and long-term wellness. The broader system is recognized for high-quality rehabilitation services and emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and ongoing professional development. As an Occupational Therapist in this clinic, you will evaluate and treat a diverse caseload of patients, including those with orthopedic injuries, post-surgical conditions, neurologic impairments, and other functional limitations. A typical day includes performing detailed evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering hands-on interventions and therapeutic activities designed to restore function, reduce pain, and promote independence in daily activities. You will collaborate closely with physical therapists, other occupational therapists, and support staff to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care. Patient volumes are designed to support both quality care and efficient scheduling, with a mix of evaluations and follow-up treatments throughout the day. Treatment sessions may include therapeutic exercise, manual techniques, functional training, education on joint protection and ergonomics, and development of home exercise programs. The clinic also offers opportunities to participate in specialized programs, such as hand and upper extremity rehabilitation, sports-related injury rehab, or work-related conditioning, depending on clinic needs and your interests and experience. The work environment is supportive and team-oriented, with therapists sharing knowledge and collaborating on complex cases. You can expect modern, well-maintained treatment spaces, access to up-to-date therapeutic equipment, and an EMR system designed to streamline documentation. Newer graduates benefit from seasoned clinicians and a culture that supports mentorship, while experienced therapists will appreciate the professional autonomy and opportunities to refine or develop areas of clinical specialization. Typical schedules follow daytime clinic hours on weekdays, with some flexibility depending on patient demand and clinic operations. Occupational therapists are expected to maintain accurate and timely documentation, communicate regularly with referral sources, and contribute to a positive, patient-focused atmosphere. This role offers a strong platform to develop outpatient skills, build a robust professional resume through work within a recognized rehabilitation network, and serve a community where your impact is both visible and valued.
