Job Description & Requirements
Physical Therapist Assistant - Outpatient - (PTA)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $1602.00 - $1651.00

This Physical Therapist Assistant opportunity is based in Baltimore, Maryland, a dynamic waterfront city that balances historic character with modern energy. Baltimore’s neighborhoods offer something for everyone, from charming rowhouse-lined streets and revitalized downtown corridors to artsy enclaves with galleries, live music, and local coffee shops. The city’s famed Inner Harbor provides scenic walking paths, restaurants, and attractions, while nearby parks and green spaces offer a refreshing break from urban life. Residents enjoy a strong food culture, professional sports, cultural institutions, and convenient access to regional destinations like Washington, DC, Annapolis, and the Chesapeake Bay. The clinic setting is an outpatient rehabilitation environment designed to support high-quality, patient-centered care. Patients typically present with a wide range of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions, including post-surgical cases, sports injuries, spine and back pain, and work-related injuries. The facility emphasizes evidence-based practice and offers specialty programs such as orthopedic rehabilitation, sports medicine, spine care, and work conditioning, giving PTAs the opportunity to contribute to focused programs while maintaining a varied and engaging caseload. As a PTA in this role, you will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to carry out individualized treatment plans. A typical day may include assisting with therapeutic exercises, functional training, gait and balance activities, neuromuscular re-education, and manual therapy support within your scope of practice. You will reinforce patient education on home exercise programs, posture and body mechanics, injury prevention strategies, and safe return to work or sport. Patient care is documented in an electronic medical record system, and you will collaborate closely with the care team to monitor progress and adjust interventions as appropriate. Patient volumes are structured to maintain a strong focus on quality while ensuring a steady and predictable workflow. You can expect to work with a diverse patient population of varying ages and activity levels, reflecting the rich diversity of the Baltimore community. The clinic environment is supportive and team-oriented, with Physical Therapists, PTAs, and other rehabilitation professionals collaborating to share knowledge and improve patient outcomes. Mentorship and ongoing education are integrated into the culture, supported by a broader organizational commitment to continuing education and clinical development. The facility features modern treatment areas with updated equipment, including therapeutic exercise machines, modalities, and dedicated space for functional and sports-related activities. This setting offers PTAs a chance to refine skills and explore areas of interest such as sports rehabilitation or industrial rehabilitation within a well-structured framework. Shift schedules are generally daytime hours aligned with outpatient clinic operations, with some flexibility to accommodate early or late appointments as needed by patients. This position is ideal for a PTA who values a vibrant urban lifestyle, appreciates a collaborative and education-focused clinical culture, and wants to grow in an outpatient setting where they can make a meaningful impact on patients’ mobility, function, and quality of life.
