Physical Therapist Assistant - Outpatient - (PTA)
StartDate: 7/20/2026 Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $1591.00 - $1639.00
This Physical Therapist Assistant opportunity is based in North Indianapolis, Indiana, an area that blends the convenience of a major city with the feel of established, friendly neighborhoods. North Indy offers easy access to vibrant suburbs such as Carmel, Fishers, and Zionsville, known for their top-rated schools, well-maintained parks, and welcoming community events. You will be just a short drive from downtown Indianapolis, home to professional sports, an exciting food scene, and cultural attractions like the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Indianapolis Zoo, and the world-renowned Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Living and working in North Indianapolis means enjoying four distinct seasons with plenty of ways to make the most of each. Nearby trails, rivers, and greenways offer outdoor recreation, while local festivals, art fairs, and live music provide year-round entertainment. The area’s relatively affordable cost of living compared with many large metropolitan regions allows you to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle, whether you prefer urban loft living, quiet suburban neighborhoods, or something in between. In this outpatient clinic setting, you will work as part of an experienced rehabilitation team focused on delivering high-quality, evidence-based musculoskeletal care. The environment is collaborative and patient-centered, with a strong emphasis on communication, shared decision-making, and ongoing staff development. You will support supervising Physical Therapists in implementing individualized plans of care designed to help patients return to work, sport, and daily activities safely and efficiently. Your typical day as a Physical Therapist Assistant will include assisting in the evaluation process by gathering patient information, carrying out treatment plans, and documenting patient progress in the clinic’s electronic medical record system. You will guide patients through therapeutic exercise programs, apply appropriate modalities within PTA scope, and perform delegated manual therapy techniques as directed by the PT. Patient education and engagement are central to this role, as you help patients understand their diagnoses, home exercise programs, and strategies for injury prevention. The caseload will primarily consist of adult and adolescent patients with orthopedic and sports-related conditions, including pre- and post-operative joint replacements, spine conditions, shoulder and knee injuries, and general musculoskeletal dysfunction. Depending on clinic needs, you may also have the opportunity to work with specialized programs such as return-to-sport, work conditioning, or balance and fall-prevention. This variety allows you to expand your skill set and refine your expertise in specific areas of interest. Clinic hours typically follow a weekday schedule with potential early morning or early evening shifts to accommodate patient needs. Start and end times are designed to ensure good patient access while supporting work-life balance. You can expect a steady but manageable patient volume, with scheduling designed to support quality, individualized care. The rehab team works closely together to maintain efficient patient flow, support new staff, share best practices, and promote a positive, professional atmosphere. This role offers a strong platform for career growth, whether your goals include advancing your clinical expertise, exploring specialty programs, or developing leadership skills within the outpatient setting. By working in a busy, professionally respected clinic in North Indianapolis, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of patients and treatment approaches, establishing an excellent foundation for future opportunities in outpatient rehabilitation.
