Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care for pediatric and high-risk neonatal patients, supporting various ICUs, emergency rooms, and specialized units. The position requires proficiency in a wide range of respiratory therapies and clinical protocols.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: 1 year of experience required.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Unit description: The Respiratory Therapist will work across multiple units including pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, pediatric cardiac intensive care, emergency room, and specialized respiratory care units. Interactions involve coordinating with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, resident providers, nursing, and other disciplines.
- Responsibilities include administering aerosol therapies, airway clearance, managing airway devices, blood gas analysis, humidity therapy, monitoring clinical protocols, performing transports, and troubleshooting inhaled nitric oxide systems.
- Additional clinical practices involve managing high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitation protocols, and supporting transport and high-frequency ventilation modalities.
- Submission requirements: Checklist/Testing, Drivers License/State ID, UHS Submission Packet, and UHS Prior Employment Form.
