Description

Job Summary:
A CT Technologist position is available in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role involves performing computed tomography (CT) procedures to acquire and analyze diagnostic data, ensuring patient safety and accurate imaging. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

  • Conducts procedures and tests using computed tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
  • Verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, assists patients and family members requiring additional attention, and ensures patient understanding and safety.
  • Performs CT scans in accordance with protocols, manipulates images, and demonstrates thorough knowledge of CT algorithms, including multi-planar and 3D reconstruction.
  • Administers oral and IV contrast following safe injection procedures, checks lab values for contrast eligibility, and establishes intravenous lines as needed.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), transmits images to electronic medical records, verifies image transmission, and ensures the accuracy of charges and patient demographic information.
  • Performs tasks efficiently, creating a consistent workflow, and volunteers for challenging tasks or new research.
  • Produces quality diagnostic images, reviews patient charts and reports, maintains a clean work environment, and documents incidents.
  • Precepts new employees and students to support department training and development.

Schedule: Fri-Sat-Sun from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (ARRS) or be registry eligible with documentation of diploma from an accredited program.
  • Requires advanced certification in CT; successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
  • All imaging specialists are required to maintain current competency in Healthcare Provider (HCP) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • No prior years of experience required.
