Description
Job Summary:
The position of CT Technologist is available in Raleigh, North Carolina. This role involves performing computed tomography (CT) procedures to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Conducts procedures and tests using computed tomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
- Verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, and assists patients and family members requiring additional attention to ensure patient safety and understanding.
- Performs CT scans in accordance with protocols, manipulates images for multi-planar and 3D reconstructions, and demonstrates thorough knowledge of CT algorithms, selecting appropriate window and level settings based on anatomy.
- Administers oral contrast and establishes intravenous lines, administering IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures after verifying patient eligibility and lab values.
- Maintains comprehensive understanding of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), transferrings images to Electronic Medical Record systems and other platforms, verifying and segmenting images, and ensuring accurate charge documentation.
- Runs the scheduled workflow to create consistent operations, reviews patient charts and reports, maintains cleanliness, and documents incidents for continuous improvement.
- Precepts new employees and students to facilitate departmental training.
- Schedule: Overnight weekend shift from Friday to Sunday, 6 PM to 6 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Prior education, training, and experience providing the ability to perform the assigned tasks; completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science; must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible, with successful candidates becoming registered within one year of employment and maintaining registry status and continuing education annually; requires advanced certification in CT; current competency in healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS).

- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The position requires candidates to be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible; candidates must provide proof of diploma from an accredited program if registry eligible; and must maintain current competency in healthcare provider BLS.
