Description
Job Summary:
A Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography (CT) is sought in Muskogee, Oklahoma. This position involves operating CT equipment to produce diagnostic cross-sectional images of patients' bodies. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes.
- Performs diagnostic CT examinations following departmental policies and protocols.
- Includes screening, preparing, and positioning patients according to diagnoses and body parts.
- Knowledgeable of all CT equipment including the laser camera.
- Evaluates CT studies for quality and completeness.
- Utilizes advanced image manipulations such as 3D rendering, reformation, and reconstruction.
- Understands image display and filming options.
- Recognizes and remedies CT imaging and filming issues.
- Sends images to PACS system, evaluates exam for completeness, and verifies exams in a timely manner.
- Develops a working knowledge of all PACS capabilities.
- Maintains accurate documentation on logbook worksheets and charges for examinations and supplies.
- Appropriately administers contrast media as directed by Radiologist.
- Maintains radiation safety for patients, staff, and family members.
- Responds to patient physical and psychological needs, informs patients about procedures, and answers questions with patience and courtesy.
- Seeks advice from appropriate resources when unsure of protocols or policies.
- Maintains a clean and well-supplied work area.
- Makes independent judgments in planning the sequence of operations and decision-making within a complex technical field.
- Works directly with patients and/or customers, internal staff, external customers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program; ARRT-R registration; BLS certification; Zero to six months of related experience; knowledge of anatomy and physiology; ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Preferred Qualifications: N/A.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: 1-2 years of CT and X-Ray experience; good to have skills include Siemens CT.
