Description
Job Summary:
The Ultrasonographer Echo specialty position is based in Lexington, North Carolina. This role involves performing cardiac ultrasound examinations in a facility with two dedicated rooms and portable ultrasound capabilities. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position focuses on adult patients, encompassing inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room settings, with a typical shift of 10 hours during the day.
Job Details:
- Location: Lexington, North Carolina
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, typically from 0700 to 1700, with a schedule made a month at a time.
- Required Qualifications: BLS certification; ARDMS-RDCS or CCI certification; 2 years of echocardiography (Echo) experience, with at least 1 year of acute experience. First-time travelers with 5+ years of acute Echo experience are considered, including some outpatient experience. Experience with Stress, Strain, Contrast, Bubble Study, Stress Echo, pre-TAVRs, and TEEs.
- Preferred Qualifications: EPIC electronic medical record experience.
- Additional Information:
- Daily volume of approximately 16 patients divided between two Sonographers.
- Must be capable of working independently and experienced with adult patient imaging.
- Support within the department includes one other Echo technician, a supervisor, an assistant/transporter, as well as hospitalist, rapid response, and code teams available 24/7.
- Cardiologist on-site each morning for stress echoes, with easy access via phone later in the day.
- Equipment includes Philips ultrasound machines and Philips Intellispace PACS system.
- Portables available at bedside for inpatient exams.
- No on-call or holiday responsibilities, with rare weekend work possible.
- Scrub color is black, with free parking available.
