Job Summary
Radiation Therapist (RTT) Glendale, California
The organization is seeking a Radiation Therapist to administer ionizing irradiation to patients in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from department physicians. This role focuses on delivering prescribed radiation therapy safely, supporting patient understanding of treatment procedures, and maintaining accurate clinical records. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days, 8 shift hours, minimum 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in radiological technology or equivalent; Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (AART-T) and Certification of Therapeutic Radiology Technology (RTT); Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT); Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice, Department of Health Services; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Required cardiopulmonary resuscitation/basic life support certification per role requirements
- Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree; Preferred experience in radiologic technology; Preferred Fluoroscopy Permit from the state of practice, Department of Health Services; Preferred ARRT-Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T)
- Additional Information: Delivers the prescribed course of radiation therapy by checking prescription, diagnosis chart, and patient identification; explains procedures to patients, including communication during treatment and basic treatment procedure; delivers prescribed daily dose while observing radiation safety measures for patients and personnel; prepares room and equipment for patient according to prescription or simulation, including immobilization devices as applicable, and transfers patient to treatment couch while attending to special needs; observes patients for unusual reactions and for signs and symptoms of developing complications during treatment, reporting reactions and complications to appropriate clinical leadership and department physician; maintains records of daily treatment and regularly reviews patient charts to eliminate errors and ensure blood counts and special reports are properly recorded; provides clinical supervision and evaluates students practical ability to perform procedures; performs other job-related duties as assigned.
