Description

CT Technologist (Computerized Tomography) Raleigh, North Carolina
The organization is seeking a CT Technologist (Computerized Tomography) to conduct CT procedures and imaging to support patient diagnostic care. The role includes verifying patient identification and safety practices, performing CT image acquisition and reconstruction, administering contrast according to established protocols, and ensuring accurate image transfer and order/charge processes. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights Weekend overnight (Fri/Sat/Sun) 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.; 12 shift hours; minimum 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science; registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible (for registry-eligible candidates, a copy of the diploma from the accredited program is required); advanced certification in CT; current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency for Health Care Professionals (HCP); ability to support patient identification, patient history collection, patient safety, CT imaging protocols, and image manipulation; skills in multi-planar reconstruction, 3D reconstruction, CT algorithms, and appropriate window and level setting.

  • Additional Information:
    • Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols, establishes intravenous lines, and administers intravenous (IV) contrast using safe and proper injection procedures, including contrast eligibility determination and laboratory value checking per protocol.
    • Maintains proficiency in Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) operation, transmits images to Quality Control (QC) and required systems, verifies and segments images at the QC station, and uses relevant tools to verify image transmission; completes, modifies, and/or cancels orders in an appropriate and timely manner and helps prevent duplicate billing through duplicate order cancellation; ensures charge accuracy verification and demographic information accuracy on PACS images.
    • Supports workflow management by running schedules to maintain consistent workflow, producing quality diagnostic images, reviewing charts and reports for correlation, maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, documenting incidents as improvement opportunities, and precepting new employees and students.
