Description

Job Summary:
A CT Technologist position is available in Hermiston, Oregon. This role involves performing diagnostic radiography procedures as well as operating computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce sectional images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment. The position requires working Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Days, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Associate or bachelors degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program; OBMI (Oregon Board of Medical Imaging) and ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registered CT technologist; Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Preferred Qualifications: CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) training; if the travel assignment extends beyond six months, CRASE training will be required
  • Essential Job Functions:
    • Performs diagnostic radiography procedures and correlates patients clinical history with procedures
    • Prepares patients for procedures, provides instructions, and maintains patient comfort and safety
    • Operates radiography and CT equipment; selects appropriate protocols and exposure factors to optimize image quality while minimizing patient exposure
    • Positions patients and immobilizes them as necessary for accurate imaging
    • Evaluates images for technical quality and proper identification
    • Verifies informed consent and assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and interventional procedures
    • Supports patient care by providing physical and emotional needs during procedures
    • Prepares, identifies, and/or administers contrast media and medications as prescribed
    • Initiates basic life support when necessary
    • Operates CT equipment, selecting appropriate protocols and maintaining data storage
    • Performs venipunctures and understands universal precautions
    • Maintains knowledge of sterile techniques and observes safety protocols
    • Provides patient education related to procedures
    • Completes required education for DNV (Det Norske Veritas) programs as applicable
    • Performs other related duties as assigned
