Description

Job Summary:
A Radiation Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography (CT) is sought for a high-acuity, freestanding emergency room located in Richmond, Virginia. This role entails providing imaging services in a fast-paced environment, supporting both CT and X-ray modalities. Candidates are required to bring their Virginia license or compact license on the first day of assignment. The position involves night shifts with a schedule of 36 hours per week, including weekends and holiday rotations.

Job Details:

  • Location: Richmond, Virginia
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 36 hours per week, weekends and holidays rotating
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications including CPR, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARRT-CT; Virginia license or compact license; 2 years of experience in a hospital setting; ability to work independently and cover both CT and X-ray modalities; professional, friendly demeanor and good communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech electronic medical records and Sectra documentation system; familiarity with acute stroke procedures and moderate pediatric volume.
  • Additional Information: The unit is a busy, high-acuity, 12-bed freestanding emergency room with a high patient volume averaging 80 patients daily, surging to over 100 during winter. The environment features new equipment, a strong team culture, and high patient satisfaction scores in the 80th percentile.
  • Certifications Required: CPR, ARRT, ARRT-CT
  • Dress Code: Grey scrubs
  • Unit Specifics: Ability to work independently, perform emergency procedures, and operate advanced imaging equipment such as the GE Optima CT scanner and portable x-ray units. Documentation is managed via Meditech and Sectra.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes setting. No surgical procedures or biopsies are performed.
