Description

Job Summary:
The position of Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Candidates are responsible for documenting patient history and physical assessments for procedures within the cardiac catheterization laboratory. This role involves explaining procedures and treatments to patients, preparing patients for procedures, operating diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs of the heart and cardiovascular system, and monitoring patient functions during cardiac catheterization. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of work.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, rotating days of the week. Minimum hours per week: 36.0.
  • Required Qualifications: Associates degree (A. A.) or graduation from a cardiovascular-related program, one year of experience in invasive procedures or two years of relevant healthcare experience, valid licensure including RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist), RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist), or RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer). Certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists), and RESP CARE are preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: The role involves the operation of diagnostic imaging equipment, multi-channel physiologic monitoring, patient observation, technical assistance, regulatory compliance, reading and interpreting technical procedures and professional journals, report writing, and applying mathematical and technical problem-solving skills.
