Description
Job Summary:
Electrophysiology Technologist in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This position involves performing diagnostic neurodiagnostic and sleep disorder testing, including electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV), sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic procedures. The technologist may provide instruction and guidance to other technologists, set up and maintain equipment, and educate patients and families on test procedures and preparation.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift with 12 hours per shift and a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology or equivalent; two (2) years of experience performing sleep or neurodiagnostic procedures if no program graduation; valid registry eligibility for specialty areas including EEG (Electroencephalogram), Evoked Potentials (EP), Polysomnography (RPSGT), and BLS (AHA or ARC).
- Preferred Qualifications: N/A
- Skills: Neurodiagnostic testing, electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV), sensory evoked potentials (EP), patient instruction, test scoring, patient history taking, continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP), equipment setup, calibration, maintenance, polysomnographic testing, oxygen therapy.
- Education: Graduation from an acceptable program of Neurophysiology.
- Certifications & Licensure: Registry eligible for EEG (R. EEG T., CLTM), Evoked Potentials (R. EP T.), Intra-Operative Monitoring (CNIM), Nerve Conduction Velocity studies (NCV), Polysomnography (RPSGT), Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), and BLS (AHA or ARC).
- Additional Information: The position requires proficiency in neurodiagnostic and sleep disorder testing with the ability to instruct patients, score tests, and maintain equipment.
