Job Summary
The healthcare provider is seeking an Ultrasonographer specializing in Echo at a Level II Trauma Center located in Bangor, Maine. This position offers an urgent start date and requires candidates to demonstrate flexibility with a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and nights. The role involves performing adult echocardiography procedures, including TEE and stress tests, within a busy imaging department supporting both inpatient and outpatient care.

Job Details

  • Location: 489 State Street, Bangor, ME 04401
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, with weekend rotation and a typical one night per week call rotation (preferred only). Holiday rotations are included as part of weekend/call scheduling (preferred only). The position requires at least 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Certification in BLS and ARDMS, with a minimum of 1 year of experience performing adult echocardiography procedures, including structural heart scans such as TEE and stress tests. No licensure required in the state of Maine for this role.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certification from CCI-RCS is preferred.
  • Additional Information: Orientation period of one week. Support on the unit by an Echo Supervisor and a team of 6-9 sonographers. Physician support includes 7 cardiologists. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center serving a broad patient population with an average of 60-70 patients seen daily. The department utilizes Cerner electronic medical records and Phillips ultrasound equipment. Support staff rotations may be within the facility only. Scrub color is teal, and parking is free.
