Description

Job Summary:
The Ultrasonographer Echo is responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures within the healthcare facility. This role involves assisting a credentialed cardiology attending during stress echocardiogram and transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) procedures. The position requires thorough knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Responsibilities include executing echocardiograms such as two-dimensional (2-D), M-Mode, color flow imaging, stress echo, TEE, and Doppler studies, along with knowledge of strain and three-dimensional (3D) echocardiography. The Ultrasonographer also obtains patient history, helps patients onto and off beds, and communicates abnormal studies directly to cardiologists.

Job Details:

  • Location: 20 Prospect Street, Hackensack, NJ 07601
  • Schedule: Shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. No weekends, holidays, or on-call duties.
  • Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; graduate of a certified cardiovascular technology school or accredited ultrasonography program with a specialty in cardiac sonography with RDMS or RDCS certification; a minimum of 2 years of experience; familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques; documentation of at least 15 hours of echocardiography-related continuing education over three years; must acquire and maintain relevant competencies, certifications, and continuing education to meet facility accreditation or licensing requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications: One-year clinical echocardiography experience preferred; two years prior experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory or invasive procedure area preferred.
  • Certifications & Licensure: Registered Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certification; maintenance of American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification within 30 days of hire.
