Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a tertiary, teaching hospital setting located in Portland, Maine. This night shift position involves providing specialized respiratory care across multiple units, including NICU, PICU, adult acute, and critical care. The role supports a team responsible for managing varied patient populations with current openings due to the retirement of staff and facility expansion.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: BLS certification is required; ACLS preferred; NRP certification for NICU; Respiratory Therapist Registered (RRT) certification required; minimum of 3 years of experience including travel experience; experience in tertiary, teaching hospitals, and level 1 trauma settings preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications: NICU/PICU experience, cardiothoracic patient care experience
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to NICU, PICU, and adult acute and critical care units as needed
  • Additional Information: The role covers a dynamic environment with varied patient care needs. The team operates with varied bed counts depending on daily assignments, supported by advanced equipment including Drager, Hamilton, Respironics ventilators, and EMR system EPIC. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, team orientation, and excellent communication skills. Scrubs provided or flexible dress code.
