Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT PEDS) position available in Alexandria, Virginia. This role involves providing intensive respiratory care, evaluating patients, and assisting with procedures such as ventilatory support, chest physiotherapy, and airway management. The assignment is for 8-13 weeks, with a focus on delivering quality patient care within a hospital or health care facility setting.
Job Details:
- Location: Alexandria, VA
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in respiratory therapy, valid Virginia license, Bachelors or Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy, minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, and ability to work in the United States
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric respiratory care and advanced airway management, CPR certification from the American Heart Association, familiarity with pulmonary function studies and ventilator management, BLS and ACLS certification
- Additional Information: The respiratory therapist will provide patient assessments, operate ventilatory and suction equipment, perform chest radiography reviews, and assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placements. The role includes documentation, equipment maintenance, and teamwork with physicians to optimize patient outcomes. Candidates must be prepared to perform emergency procedures and adhere to hospital policies related to respiratory care.
