Job Summary
Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Ultrasonography is sought for a night shift position in Austin, Texas. This role involves performing routine and specialized ultrasound procedures primarily focused on pediatric patients, with a small number of basic pregnancy scans. The technologist will be responsible for integrating technical expertise, patient interaction, and compassionate care to ensure accurate diagnostics and patient satisfaction.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shift, Monday through Thursday, 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Graduate of a formal diagnostic radiology program; BLS certification from the American Heart Association; RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist certification; one of the following certifications within 18 months of role start: RDMS-AB (in Abdomen) or RDMS-OB (Obstetrics and Gynecology) or RDMS-PS (Pediatric Sonography) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or ARRT Registered Technologist in Sonography through the American Registry of Radiologic Technicians (ARRT)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric ultrasound experience; bilingual skills (preferable)
  • Additional Information: Performs high-quality ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Maintains equipment and inventory, verifies patient identity, assesses contraindications, and administers contrast agents as appropriate. Demonstrates proficiency with ultrasound physics, equipment troubleshooting, and basic medical terminology. Exhibits excellent communication skills with patients, families, and departmental staff, and upholds confidentiality at all times. Capable of independently scanning patients following protocol.
