Description

Job Summary:
The facility is seeking a Registered Electroencephalograph (EEG) Technologist for a position in New York. The role involves preparing patients for electroencephalogram (EEG) exams, applying electrodes, operating and maintaining EEG equipment, and identifying tracing records. The selected candidate will work a rotating schedule primarily consisting of night and weekend shifts, including 11.5-hour shifts with a minimum of 34.5 hours per week.

Job Details:

  • Location: New York, NY
  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, mostly nights and weekends; shifts typically run from 7 PM to 7 AM or 8 PM to 8 AM, with occasional day shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State department of education or recognized accrediting organization
    • One (1) year of experience as an Electroencephalograph Technician in a hospital or healthcare setting, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    • Certificate of Completion from the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) recognized training program, or graduation from an accredited program recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Preferred Qualifications: None listed
  • Additional Information:
    • EEG Technologist experience of at least one year required
    • Certifications include EEG certification; BLS certification preferred but not required
    • This position involves clinical responsibilities related to patient preparation, electrode application, equipment operation, and record analysis
