Job Summary:
The Outpatient Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is located in a healthcare organization in Sitka, Alaska. The role involves providing outpatient evaluation and treatment services to adult and pediatric patients, with a primary focus on delivering speech and language therapy interventions. Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program; CCC-SLP certification; Alaska licensure in Speech-Language Pathology; Basic Life Support certification; outpatient pediatric and adult experience required; must reside at least 50 miles from the position location.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in outpatient rehabilitation services; proficiency in community outreach and home assessments; familiarity with telehealth modalities.
- Additional Information: Position involves providing comprehensive speech and language therapy in various settings including outpatient clinics, community events, and home visits. There may be occasional multi-day travel to remote areas via boat or small plane, potentially in harsh weather conditions. The role includes collaboration with medical teams, patient and family education, and maintaining accurate documentation. The incumbent will assist with program development, participate in educational activities, and utilize hospital systems for documentation and communication. Good judgment, tact, and cultural sensitivity are essential for positive interactions with patients and staff.
