Description

Job Summary
The organization is seeking a qualified Perfusionist to support an acute care hospital in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized perfusion services during cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal clinical outcomes during complex surgeries. The Perfusionist will operate and monitor extracorporeal life support equipment, including heart-lung machines, in a Level I trauma center environment.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 08/31/2026
  • Required Qualifications: State license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; minimum 4 years of experience preferred; open to first-timers; ability to work weekend call rotation approximately every 5th weekend with possible holiday coverage
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult cardiovascular procedures, familiarity with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and Extra Corporeal Life Support (ECLS), proficiency with Cardiopulmonary Bypass (CPB) equipment, and advanced knowledge of Acid-Base management, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), and Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD)
  • Certifications: BLS, Certification in Cardiovascular Perfusion (CCP) required; active Illinois licensure in hand at time of submission
  • Additional Information: Candidate must be pre-closed at time of submission, review job details with the traveler, confirm housing arrangements, and provide SSN and DOB. Floating may be required, and all compliance requirements including modules, lab appointments, and documentation must be completed within specified timeframes.
