Description

Job Summary:
Pharmacist Inpatient (Houston, Texas) This inpatient pharmacy position involves managing medication processes, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, and maintaining aseptic techniques in sterile product preparation. The role requires compliance with hospital standards and a focus on patient safety across all age groups, from neonates to adults.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 7 shifts per pay period, from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D. Pharm.D.) degree; State of Texas Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) certification with an unrestricted license; a minimum of 2 years hospital staff pharmacist experience (specifically medication preparation) preferred; 20 hours of accredited sterile compounding training by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in medication preparation within a hospital setting; sterile compounding certification as above.
  • Additional Information: Ensures all medication doses are appropriate to the patient's diagnosis, weight, allergies, and drug interactions, evidenced by the lack of medication incidents. Accurately enters medication orders into the computer system. Ensures correct medication dispensing, processing, and delivery within established guidelines. Follows aseptic technique and infection control protocols during sterile product preparation, completing annual re-certification with at least 90% score as documented by a qualified observer.
