Job Summary:
A Radiology Technologist specializing in computed tomography (CT) is sought for a position in the Iowa region. The role involves operating CT scanners, portable x-ray equipment, and performing imaging procedures for a mixed population of adult and pediatric patients. The position entails working during night shifts, with coverage primarily on weekends.
Job Details:
- Position: CT Technologist
- Location: Missouri Valley, Iowa
- Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night shifts from 8:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., with minimum hours per week of 34.5 hours.
- Certifications: ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification are required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CT technologist.
- Qualifications: Must be a certified x-ray technician with experience in CT imaging; advanced knowledge of all CT exams is required, although ARRT CT certification is not mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with EMR systems (EPIC) and PACS (McKesson), with experience operating Siemens and Canon imaging equipment including the Siemens Somatom GoUP CT scanner, Siemens Multix X-ray system, and portable x-ray units.
- Additional Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license, be willing to wait for license submission, and adhere to departmental policies including no artificial fingernails in clinical areas.
- Department Details: The department has one x-ray room, one portable x-ray unit, and one CT scanner. The role involves working alone on night shifts without a radiology supervisor or lead tech present, with occasional coverage of ER, inpatient, and outpatient areas.
- Orientation: One week of unit-specific orientation is provided.
- Additional Notes: Candidates should have the ability to work independently, with experience in imaging adult and pediatric patients and familiarity with the department's imaging protocols.
