Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technologist position available in Brighton, Colorado. This role involves providing technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures within the cardiac catheterization laboratory, assisting physicians, operating imaging equipment, and supporting patient care and education under supervision. The position emphasizes adherence to safety standards and quality initiatives in a clinical setting.
Job Details:
- Provides technical support in the cardiac catheterization laboratory during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
- Provides patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse.
- Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acts as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures.
- Operates imaging equipment and works in the control room monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
- Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and about the expectations of the procedure.
- Teaches patient and family about pre and post procedure physical conditions.
- Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit. Maintains appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
- Completes daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards. Accurately documents productivity information.
- Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identifies potential areas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction.
- Identifies potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff, and takes appropriate actions.
- Promotes mission, vision, and values of the organization, and abides by service behavior standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; ARRT registration or RCIS certification within 18 months of hire; BLS certification from the American Heart Association; ACLS certification from the American Heart Association; fluoroscopy certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology or Catheterization Laboratory is preferred.
