Job Summary:
Dietitian, specializing in clinical nutritional care, is responsible for delivering comprehensive nutrition services in an acute inpatient setting. This role involves performing patient assessments, developing and implementing nutritional care plans, and providing education to patients and their families. The position requires the ability to function independently, particularly with extensive experience in Parenteral Nutrition, and includes floating responsibilities within a regional network.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Day shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in food and nutrition or equivalent; Masters Degree (required if eligibility for examination began on or after 01/01/2024); minimum of 3 years experience as a Clinical Dietitian; dietetic internship or equivalent; Registered Dietitian (RD) certification within 6 months of residency completion; EPIC electronic medical records experience
• Essential Functions: Performs patient nutritional assessments and reassessments, develops and monitors nutritional care plans, manages medical nutrition therapy with accuracy and safety, and provides nutritional education. Responsible for directing care, supervising indirect data collection, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Acts as a resource for healthcare team members, patients, and families, and provides orientation and training for new personnel. Must be able to pass competencies within the first days and work independently with clinical expertise, especially in Parenteral Nutrition.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The role requires the ability to work throughout the Kern County network, including multiple facilities, and to adapt to various clinical settings as needed.
