Job Summary:
The ultrasonographer specializing in echocardiography located in Salt Lake City, Utah, is responsible for prioritizing and scheduling ultrasound exams, coordinating with medical staff, physicians, and patients. This role involves preparing patients, performing adult transthoracic ultrasound and contrast agent procedures, and ensuring quality outcomes. The position emphasizes patient safety, technical excellence, and effective communication within an inpatient care setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3-12 hour days, variable shifts including weekends, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution; ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers; 1+ years of experience focusing on adult transthoracic echocardiography, including contrast agent and bubble echo procedures. Experience with transesophageal echocardiogram and pediatric ultrasound is a plus.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.
• Certifications & Licensure: ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Skills & Experience: Vascular sonography, cardiac sonography, ultrasound examination procedures, patient identification processes, patient education, equipment operation, patient safety, documentation, quality improvement processes, patient transportation.
• Additional Information: The role supports team and quality improvement initiatives, participating in educational opportunities to enhance clinical competence and teaching responsibilities as appropriate.
