Description
Job Summary:
The Boston area is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). This role involves preparing and positioning patients for MRI scans, selecting appropriate pulse sequences, evaluating image quality, and ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure. The position requires a professional capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment, with rotational shift hours.
Job Details:
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts
- Shift Time: Rotating
- Shift Hours: 12 hours per shift
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Start Date: 08/31/2026
- Travel Required?: No
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Required Qualifications: At least 2 years related work experience; ARRT certification; BLS-AHA certification; MRI Technologist specialty.
- Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepares and positions patients for MRI scans of various body parts, including setting up coils and monitoring devices.
- Screens patients for ferrous metal implants or other contraindications.
- Selects pulse sequences from the monitoring console, records implemented sequences, and recommends protocol adjustments.
- Evaluates scan results for quality and completeness, manipulates images for physician review, and sends images to the PACS system.
- Responds to patient needs, explains procedures, monitors for contrast reactions, and reports any issues.
- Initiates IV lines when necessary, monitors patient responses, and maintains accurate procedure records.
- Participates in educational activities and assists in clinical evaluations of students and technologists.
