The location is in Palo Alto, California. This position is for a Histologist working in a busy laboratory setting. The role involves embedding and sectioning a variety of surgical and research tissues, performing staining procedures, and ensuring high-quality microscopic slides. The position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment; knowledge of tissue processing, embedding, cutting, and staining techniques; effective communication skills; organizational and multitasking abilities; familiarity with laboratory safety policies; no minimum experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification as Histotechnologist (HTL-ASCP) or Histotechnician (HTN-ASCP) within 1.5 years
- Additional Information: The role involves cutting high-quality 1-4 micron sections of small and challenging biopsy specimens, routine H&E stains, quality control procedures, and participation in safety and departmental meetings. Overtime and shift coverage may be required to meet department needs. The candidate must follow all health and safety policies and work collaboratively within the team.
