Description

Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Inpatient (OT IP) position located in an inpatient healthcare setting. This role involves evaluating and treating adult and pediatric patients using occupational therapy modalities. The therapist will set measurable goals, develop treatment plans, administer diagnostic procedures, modify treatments based on patient progress, and document patient care. The position emphasizes collaboration with medical and allied health personnel, patient and family education, and maintaining departmental standards.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution, licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Documentation of Specialist Certification, experience providing therapy in inpatient settings, participation in clinical instruction, and training of new personnel.
  • Additional Information: The occupational therapist will evaluate new patients, establish treatment goals, administer diagnostic testing, fabricate adaptive equipment or splints, and adapt therapy techniques for patients with diverse needs. The role includes providing patient and family education, maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies. The therapist may assist in the training of students and new staff, participate in meetings, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
