Description
Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Inpatient in a healthcare setting. This role involves providing occupational therapy interventions to patients in the neonatal intensive care unit, including assessment, care planning, education, and documentation. The therapist will perform duties that support patient independence and coordinate post-discharge therapy services, all while adhering to safety standards and providing age-appropriate care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Shifts would be 1 weekend a month, 8am start time, with 8 hours per day and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Masters of Occupational Therapy (OT) required, California Occupational Therapy license required, current BLS/Healthcare Provider status per American Heart Association standards required, at least 3 years of OT experience including NICU experience, and 1 year of NICU experience.
- Assist in assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans compatible with physician, patient, and family goals.
- Provide high-quality, safe patient care, including assessments, interventions in fine motor skills, self-help skills, development, and durable medical equipment.
- Complete all necessary documentation related to patient treatment.
- Coordinate with a case manager for post-discharge therapy referrals.
- Assist in orientation and instruction of therapy students and assistants during clinical affiliations.
- Assume duties of Charge Therapist as needed.
- Maintain departmental safety standards and meet department objectives.
- Ensure patient care is age-appropriate for all patients served on the unit.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
