Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Night Shift for a healthcare provider setting. This role involves providing respiratory care, pulmonary, and cardiology diagnostic testing to pediatric patients across various healthcare settings. The incumbent will work independently, supporting patient assessment, therapy management, and collaboration with medical staff to ensure optimal care.
Job Details
- Position requires an associate or technical degree, proof of passing the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and a current license as required by state law. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Performs all basic modalities of respiratory care as prescribed by physicians and/or licensed practitioners in accordance with established policies.
- Applies and manages mechanical ventilators, recommending adjustments to improve clinical conditions and expedite weaning processes in pediatric patients.
- Assembles, disassembles, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and adjusts durable medical equipment used in respiratory care, following department policies.
- Performs pulmonary and cardiology diagnostic testing as prescribed, evaluating patient response, and making recommendations to physicians for care plan modifications.
- Communicates and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and may supervise department staff.
- Requires knowledge of clinical techniques, applications, and equipment, typically obtained through at least one year of clinical experience.
- Must demonstrate highly effective human relation skills to interface with patients, families, staff, and healthcare providers.
- Candidate may be required to have a valid drivers license, Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (for Banner Home Care/Hospice), or Blood Gas Technologist certification (if practicing in Nevada).
- No minimum experience requirement is specified beyond clinical familiarity.
