Job Details

• Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. At least one year of laboratory work experience required. No licensure or certification required.
• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Responsible for performing routine and special Histology procedures while verifying specimen integrity and maintaining proper patient identification.
• Operates and maintains laboratory instruments, performs quality control, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure accurate and timely test results.
• Manages laboratory and hospital computer systems for test ordering, result review, and documentation, ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Communicates effectively with supervisors, physicians, nurses, patients, and other hospital staff, providing timely and professional information.
• Follows laboratory and hospital policies, ensures a safe work environment, and complies with regulations regarding medical necessity and billing.
• Works in a normal laboratory environment with exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue, and may be required to work under stressful or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Performs other related duties as needed.
