Job Details

• Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RT PEDS); current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist Registered.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include administering invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, operating oxygen and aerosol devices, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography, and reviewing chest x-rays.
• Conducts pulmonary function tests, assists with procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, chest tube placement), and performs tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.
• Performs arterial punctures, monitors ventilation efficiency, and maintains detailed documentation of treatments and patient responses.
• Operates mechanical ventilators, maintains equipment, and ensures compliance with hospital policies for laboratory testing and infection control.
• Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Conducts set-up and self-test procedures on ventilatory equipment, facilitates preventive maintenance, and communicates effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
