Respiratory Therapist (Pediatric) in Brandon, FL This position involves providing specialized respiratory care for pediatric patients within a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role demands a focus on ventilator management, high-risk delivery attendance, and administration of advanced respiratory therapies to critically ill children.

Job Details:

• Position: Respiratory Therapist (Pediatric) Specialty: RT PEDS Location: Brandon, FL
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts Minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 09/15/2026 End Date: 12/15/2026
• Required Qualifications: Certification as a Respiratory Therapist, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, Level 3 NICU experience (or 3-5 years of Level 2 NICU experience).
• Preferred Qualifications: STABLE certification.
• Responsibilities: Attend high-risk deliveries, manage ventilators including high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, administer surfactant, acquire and interpret blood gases, administer Nitric Oxide therapy, operate Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A oscillators, and Vapotherms.
• Additional Information: The NICU staff includes experienced respiratory therapists working during day and night shifts with a typical staffing ratio of 2 therapists during peak volumes. The unit utilizes Meditech and NeoNotes electronic medical records, and is equipped with advanced ventilatory and nitric oxide delivery systems. The traveler will be scheduled in accordance with facility policy and is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital staff.
