Description

Job Summary

Respiratory Therapist Registered, RT PEDS. This position supports pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a short-term acute care and trauma setting. Responsibilities include respiratory care, emergency response, rapid response, code response, and specialized respiratory procedures across multiple units.

Job Details

Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week. Every other weekend is required, and block scheduling is required.
Assignment Period: 11/16/202602/15/2027.
Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience; Registered Respiratory Therapist credential; Washington state license in hand; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
Preferred Qualifications: Trauma experience; experience caring for pediatric and adolescent patients; familiarity with Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Trilogy, and LTV1250 equipment.
Clinical Responsibilities and Skills: Floor care; Emergency Department support; code response; rapid response; aerosol and tracheostomy setup; bronchodilator and inhaled medication administration; bilevel positive airway pressure; continuous positive airway pressure; emergency airway management; extubation; interpretation of arterial blood gases; nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning; pulmonary hygiene; tracheostomy care and management; troubleshooting high-pressure alarms; weaning from mechanical ventilation; trauma care; and pediatric respiratory care.
Float: Float rotation may be required.
Operational Details: Expected patient ratio is 1:11. The role supports adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatric patients. Three of the five designated holidays must be worked: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, or New Years Day.
