Description

Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) in a healthcare facility in the Central Valley region. This role involves providing specialized respiratory care services for pediatric patients, ensuring safety, compliance, and effective treatment under physician orders. The position requires working with adult and geriatric patients as well, with a focus on mechanical ventilation, aerosol therapy, and bedside patient care.

Job Details:

Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, starting on 10/19/2026 and ending on 01/17/2027.
Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelors); Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) credential or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential (Required in CA, OR, and HI); Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license (Required in CA); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (Preferred); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Preferred); Facility-specific certifications may include ACLS (Required).
Essential Functions: Assesses and documents the appropriateness of prescribed therapy for patients receiving respiratory care. Provides aerosol and oxygen therapy; draws arterial blood gases; cares for ventilator patients; assists in department record keeping; documents treatments; instructs nursing personnel; performs pulmonary function tests; provides patient education; ensures equipment is maintained and sterilized; assists physicians with bronchoscopy and special procedures; participates in quality control and staff training; ensures compliance with ventilator and VAP bundles; assists with equipment setup and maintenance; and helps manage supplies and specialty equipment.
Additional Information: Experience in EPIC and Cerner is required to support backfill and system documentation processes.
