Job Summary
CT Technologist Location: Not Specified. This role involves independently performing computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration. The position requires technical expertise in operating complex imaging equipment, adjusting protocols based on clinical needs, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

Job Details

• Education and Knowledge Requirements: Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program. CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained. 2 years of experience is required. Licenses and Certifications include ARRT Certificate, Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification, Basic Life Support (BLS), and PA Act 31, 33, 34, 73.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Responsibilities:
  Independently performs computed tomography procedures utilizing established scan protocols, including contrast administration.
  Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment to adjust protocols, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic CT purposes.
  Utilizes complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation of image data and completes procedures according to protocol.
  Demonstrates proper technique in venipuncture and proper use of power injectors according to set protocols.
  Administers PO, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders/department policy and assesses patients for potential risk factors prior to contrast media administration.
  Demonstrates strong patient interaction, displaying high levels of caring, listening, dignity, and respect. Works collaboratively within the department and with other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
  Communicates instructions to patients clearly, explains procedures to help allay fears, and solicits cooperation.
  Identifies all patients properly using two identifiers and applies universal protocol when performing procedures.
  Reviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal results.
  Documents patient history and ensures exams are properly coded, networked, and charges are accurately entered.
  Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies and other duties as assigned.
