Job Summary
Ultrasonographer Echo (Cardiac Sonographer) in the healthcare industry is responsible for performing advanced echocardiography imaging in an accredited echo laboratory. This role involves collaborating closely with cardiologists to assess and diagnose cardiac diseases, utilizing a variety of diagnostic ultrasound techniques including m-mode, 2D, 3D, spectral Doppler, color Doppler, tissue Doppler imaging, and strain imaging. The position requires working across multiple sites with hospital coverage on-call after hours, weekends, and holidays.
Job Details
- Position: Cardiac Sonographer/Echocardiography Technologist
- Location: Various Heart and Vascular Institute sites
- Shift: Days, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications:
- Must be registered as a Cardiac Sonographer RDCS or RCS and have at least 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
- Graduate from an accredited Echocardiography program with an Associates or Bachelor's Degree
- BLS (AHA or ARC) Certification
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and EKG rhythms
- Ability to operate Electronic Medical Records systems
- Experience with IV insertion for ultrasound enhancement agents and bubble studies
- Willingness to work at all Heart and Vascular Institute sites on occasion
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience performing contrast-enhanced transthoracic echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms
- Familiarity with structural heart procedure imaging and transesophageal echocardiograms
- Additional Information:
- Candidates must accurately list prior work history with North Memorial Health, Maple Grove Hospital, and/or Blaze Health LLC on their resume
- Must provide two supervisory references with employment dates listed
- No weekends or on-call responsibilities required
- Position start date: 10/19/2026, end date: 04/19/2027
